The Synology DS425+ is a compact 4-bay NAS aimed at advanced home users, professionals and small businesses that need fast, reliable and accessible storage. It's powered by an Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core processor at 2.0GHz (up to 2.7GHz with Turbo) and 2GB of DDR4 memory, expandable to 6GB, for smoothly running demanding DSM applications.
Four drive bays support up to 80TB of raw capacity using 20TB drives, and two M.2 NVMe slots can be used to accelerate performance through caching. Networking includes a 2.5GbE port alongside a standard 1GbE port for fast, flexible connectivity.
Synology's DSM operating system adds tools such as Active Backup, Surveillance Station for camera management, and flexible RAID options (JBOD, RAID 0/1/5/6/10, SHR), along with file sync, document collaboration and secure team chat features.
